Joey's Wedding : Our youngest son Joey was married on July 5 in Galveston. This was our first wedding and both of us documented the event; Since I was seated near the couple during the ceremony, Glen took lots of wedding photos which are under the Family gallery. We started by taking the ferry to Galveston, stayed in a bed & breakfast, toured the Ocean Star drill rig museum, and had a great time. Two other handsome sons are still available for some lucky girl.

Texas Beach : We usually visit the beach during the winter months. This time it was still summer with people picniking, swimming, and fishing. We returned in December to find several trucks with fishing poles but much less crowded than September. My camera this time was new--and I had a few problems with the lens opening.

Wisconsin July 2007 : Every year we visit Eastman Wisconsin to catch up on family news, view the Fourth of July parade--see the other gallery in this site labeled Fourth of July parade--, and enjoy the wonderful landscape of Wisconsin. The trip begins in Beaumont Texas, goes through Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. On the way back we retraced our steps but took a detour through Madison Wisconsin and Monroe Wisconsin. It is fun to travel but nice to be home.

Fourth of July 2007 in Eastman Wisconsin : The Fourth of July celebration in Eastman Wisconsin is always a fun event. It started during World War II and was organized by my Uncle Dan Boom along with other City Fathers in an attempt to raise morale. It has been an annual tradition since then and he rode his horse in every parade with the exception of one year immediately post surgery.
The day begins with the parade at 10 AM. It consists of fire trucks, antique tractors, floats, bands, and Dairy Princesses, and people campaigning for office. It closes down Highway 27 for nearly two hours. People line the streets and after the parade everyone heads to the school grounds for bratwurst made by my cousin, and homemade pie with ice cream. Ball games and sack races and water balloon tosses and mud volley ball fill the afternoon. That evening the fireworks begin, a spectacular show---and then a street dance. A wonderful day.
